Mals Lightwave Models for TV Animations
The models featured on these pages were made specifically for use in TV animations. I know that much more detailed and accurate models are available, but for my purposes they were unnecessarily complex - you can't see the detailed cockpit interiors of a flight of Harriers going past the camera at 400 knots! Similarly, undercarriage wasn't needed, nor separate control surfaces, but a pilot figure most certainly was. For me, a simple but visually convincing model that didn't take hours to render was more important, particularly as I intended to create formations representative of their operational use. The models are not suitable for use in flight simulators.
Before purchasing any of the models I recommend that you download the free model first to check that it meets your needs - it's a good example of the standard of the rest. So with our compliments, please feel free to download this FREE set of textures and lightwave object file right here;

Using the controls above you can play a slideshow or use the navigation bar on the right hand side to select the model you are interested in. There is some brief text and some links to choose from. The first link will add the model to your PayPal shopping basket. The second will play a short Quicktime movie of the model (you may be prompted to download a plug-in form the Apple website - it is perfectly safe).
If there's an aircraft type that you particularly want, and can't find anywhere else, let me know. Maybe we can work something out.
The textures are simple JPEGS that are easy to edit or replace to represent any aircraft markings you like. You may use the models in any animations or graphics you wish, but the models (in the .lwo file format of Lightwave) themselves are copyright. You may not resell them or post them on any other file-sharing website. If images/animations made using the models are used in published or broadcast media a credit would be appreciated.
